MARE ISLAND, CALIF– Four sizable aftershocks, measured 3.9, 2.7, 2.8 and 3.2 located about 7 miles north of Mare Island, according to the U.S. Geological Survey , struck within 1 hour this morning. No additional damage has been reported.
—Update–Three additional aftershocks occurred later in the day. These were recorded as a 3.0, 2.9 and 2.5 magnitude aftershocks that struck just north of this morning’s location. Caltrans reinspected the Mare Island bridge on HWY 37 following the quakes to make sure no more damage had occurred to the structure.
