The city of Vallejo posted this on their website, but never mailed any notices to businesses and residents about plans to close our bridge for 4-6 months for repair work. This is planned for 2013. Please attend to voice your concerns on this planned closure of our vital link to our island.

SUBJECT: Mare Island Causeway Western Approach Bridge Replacement Construction Project

City of Vallejo is holding a public meeting for the Mare Island Causeway Western Approach Bridge Replacement Project.

City of Vallejo will briefly explain the necessity, detour, tentative schedule of project and answer questions. The project will consist of replacement of the existing bridge.

City of Vallejo anticipates that the Mare Island Causeway will be closed for Public traffic for approximately 4 to 6 months from late summer / winter 2013. The exact closure date and detour will be available after completing final design in summer 2013.
